A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR
April 28, 2025
To All YCRC Members and Supporters,
This communication from me is long overdue, and I apologize to everyone for the gap. It seems like yesterday when the YCRC held its Celebration and Reorganization Meeting in February, quickly followed by the petition signature deadline in March and the accompanying flurry of activity to help make certain our candidates were on the ballot.
Since then, much has been going on. The Executive Committee, as the body designated in the bylaws, approved to recommend a slate of school board candidates in the Southern School District; this recommendation has already been added to Southern’s campaign materials. Spring Grove School District was also just approved for recommendation. The bylaws specify that a “recommendation” is the term that can be used and not an “endorsement” in school board races.
A unique situation has developed in the Dover School Board primary, where there are two Republicans, Miguel Lluberes and Tyler Wagner, running as write-in candidates. While their write-in campaign is a steep hill to climb, Representatives Grove and Anderson and Senator Keefer have endorsed these two strong candidates. Representative Grove is also funding a mailer. Yard signs and larger signs are being placed right now to get the word out. Note, with cross-filing by the other school board candidates, Dover Republican voters should ONLY write in these two candidates, Miguel Lluberes and Tyler Wagner.
The York Suburban School District race is fielding four great candidates running to promote “Teachers, Not Buildings.” Please email [email protected] if you can door knock for the York Suburban candidates.
Borough races are heating up in Wrightsville and West York, and the YCRC is working where it can support these races. Door knocking will be essential for these candidates in their primary elections. Please email [email protected] to support their elections efforts.
The May 20th primary is fast approaching. If you can volunteer to poll greet or poll watch, please contact Jean Lehman ASAP to get scheduled for a poll location.
We all know how important election integrity is, and we encourage any loyal Republican to be a JOE—Judge of Elections—to supervise their polling place. Sadly, in Pennsylvania Democrat JOEs outnumber Republican JOEs almost 2 to 1, even here in deep red York County. It is still possible to become a JOE by write-in on May 20th.
The PA CAP is offering support to help recruit more Republican JOEs.

Lastly, in-person, over-the-counter voting is back! You can go to the Pleasant Valley Board of Elections office or the Old Courthouse downtown. Join me and vote now to BANK YOUR VOTE!
We thank Commissioner Wheeler and Commissioner Burford for their tireless efforts for new and improved in-person, over-the-counter voting. York County is so very fortunate for their leadership.
Thank you to all the hard-working volunteers as we approach May 20th. Let’s finish strong!
