Your donation is matched in June

Dear John,

You’d think that a pandemic would be a time to shore up safeguards for public health and clean water. But the Trump administration is hard at work gutting protections, dismantling rules and putting the health of people and rivers at risk.

It’s time to speak up. It’s time to fight back. Donate today and you’ll power our efforts to defend clean water and rivers nationwide.

Thanks to a generous donor, we've got a $25,000 June match happening, meaning every $1 = $2.

Take a look at these examples of recent Trump administration actions, and I think you’ll see why your support is more urgent than ever:

  • The administration’s Dirty Water Rule removes protection from one in five streams nationally and more than half of the nation’s wetlands, opening the door to increased pollution, harmful development and destruction of drinking water sources.
  • The EPA just issued a new rule that guts a provision of the Clean Water Act, sidelining the role of states, tribes and the public in decisions on permits for oil and gas pipelines, hydroelectric dams, and other industrial development  impacting clean water.
  • The Edenville Dam failure in Michigan exposed serious gaps in dam safety enforcement. On the same day the dam failed, President Trump issued an executive order to federal agencies calling for more regulatory rollbacks, under the guise of boosting the economy.

Now is not the time to be rolling back rules that protect our communities. Millions of Americans already lack access to safe, clean water. American Rivers is working hard at every level, making sure our country does more, not less, to protect rivers and clean water across the country.

Please donate today. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can achieve a future of healthy rivers and clean water for all.

For the rivers,
