College Access and Readiness in California

The majority of California students graduate high school, which fulfills one requirement for UC and CSU, but less than half complete the courses required for eligibility. Soon after high school, well over half of graduates go to college. Many start at a community college, and transfers make up a sizable share of enrollment at the state's four-year universities.
