Hi John,
Today, our CEO
Naomi Smith told
11 MPs why the best way for the Government to achieve its
number one stated ambition - growth - is by forging closer
ties with the EU.
Using our independent
economic research and up
to date polling, she gave evidence to the Foreign Affairs
Select Committee on what voters want to see from the UK-EU
reset - and just how damaging it could be for the UK
Government if they come away from the summit empty-handed.

Here's what Naomi told the
committee:
-
Three times the number of
voters want the UK Government to pursue a deeper relationship
with the EU over the US.
-
A UK-EU youth mobility scheme is
supported by a majority of voters in every GB constituency -
even Nigel Farage's Clacton seat.
-
A trade deal with the US could involve
Trump demanding access to the UK market for agricultural products like
chlorinated chicken or hormone-treated beef, which is
extremely unpopular with the public.
- The extra paperwork created
by post-Brexit red tape could wrap around the world 15 times.
Common sense measures like aligning UK standards with the EU's,
wherever it makes sense to do so, could cut these trade barriers
dramatically.

It's thanks
to your
support for our work that we're able to produce
the polling, research and reports that can change the Government's
mind, and encourage them to go further, faster in their reset with the
EU.
Today's evidence session
shows that they are listening. So we'll keep pushing them to rebuild those ties with our
European neighbours that are so critical in these uncertain
times.
Thanks for
watching,
Cal
