Our host Sam Lewis will be joined by Carlos Cervantes (ARC Life Coach & Ride Home Program Manager), Harvey Knight (ARC Life Coach & Reentry Specialist), April Adkins (of A New Way of Life Reentry Project), Dion Thompson (ARC Life Coach), and Mariano Orosco (an ARC member who came home in March from prison) to discuss what it means to come home in the midst of a global pandemic, and how COVID-19 impacts our recently released community members.

Miners would keep a bird caged in mines because its demise provided a warning of dangerous levels of toxic gases. As our community members come home from being caged, they too can provide timely warnings for how our society cares for poor people and communities of color.

Topics of discussion will be

• reentry during the time of COVID-19;
• how we meaningfully support people coming home during this tumultuous time;
• and the realities COVID-19 has laid bare for our communities.
