Leadership

Greetings, readers!

For this week’s Leadership newsletter, we examine the ways nonprofit and philanthropic organizations can best prepare for today’s unpredictable legal and political climate.

First, a new NPQ series on liberatory leadership as a practice begins with an introduction to the framework. Next, as the Trump administration continues to assert political control over higher education, advocates consider how these tactics may be used against other nonprofit organizations—and what to do about it. Then, in a conversation with NPQ, Kristin Powell discusses how Black Futures Lab organizes rural Black communities through long-term deep canvassing. Finally, a recent Supreme Court ruling didn’t just reject a lawsuit—it redrew the map for how nonprofits can challenge actions of the federal government, making a major statement about who is allowed to bring such cases to court.

As always, we welcome feedback. Please feel free to email us at [email protected].
