Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s cruel agenda is hurting working people – from threatening to cut Medicaid, firing hardworking public servants, and imposing tariffs that jack up prices on things like food and gas and harm our signature industries like Kentucky bourbon.

Team, I’ve seen firsthand the damage Trump and Elon’s agenda is causing. Trump’s tariffs are hitting my state harder than just about anyone.

Americans want their government to invest in basics like good schools, access to quality, affordable health care, and our roads and bridges. But instead of focusing on issues that matter, the president is obsessed with culture war issues and trying to divide us.

We can’t let Trump’s antics distract us. That’s why across the country, Democratic governors are putting their heads down and getting to work. We are focused on the real-life concerns you’re dealing with from lowering drug costs and raising our states’ minimum wage, to fixing roads and breaking down barriers to affordable health care.

But with 38 governors’ races over the next two years against opponents who are sure to support Trump and Musk’s cruel agenda, we have to prepare now in order to defend our blue firewall and keep delivering progress.

He restored voting rights to nearly 200,000 Kentuckians, secured low-cost health care for tens of thousands, had the best economic development year on record, and had the lowest unemployment rate in state history. He won his first election by just 5,136 votes and his second by 5 percentage points because Kentuckians and folks across the country know that he will work every day to make Americans lives better from jobs, to infrastructure, health care, public education, and so much more.

Now he’s serving as DGA Vice Chair to continue the fight for progress by electing Democratic governors across the country.
