VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump snubbed as Philadelphia Eagles visit White House
The Super Bowl champions visited the White House yesterday — a tradition that dates back to 1980 — but conspicuously missing from the group were several key players, including star quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, who could not attend due to "scheduling conflicts." Kudos, Jalen. Carving out time in the off-season to meet with fascists falls pretty low on our to-do list, too, just after voluntary root canals and wrestling a mongoose.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker calls for "mass protests," says Democrats' strategy is "stale"
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a likely 2028 Democratic presidential contender, called on Democrats to engage in "mass protests" during a fervid speech in New Hampshire on Sunday night, rejecting the bipartisan approach pushed by others in his party and sparking predictable backlash from the White House. "It’s time to fight everywhere and all at once," Pritzker, who was on the Harris campaign’s short list for a running mate last year, told a crowd of Democratic officials and donors in Manchester. "Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now," he continued. "These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. They must understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have... For far too long, we've been guilty of listening to a bunch of do-nothing political types who would tell us that America’s house is not on fire, even as the flames are licking their faces," adding that Democrats need to "stop thinking we can reason or negotiate with a madman." FINALLY. These are not normal times, people! LOTS MORE of this, please.

Vulnerable GOP Trump-enabler Susan Collins has a Democratic challenger
Jordan for Maine: Susan Collins is wringing her hands over Trump’s destruction of our Constitution. She says she’s “concerned” but does nothing to stop him. She even voted against his impeachment because, in her words, he had “learned his lesson.” Obviously he hasn’t, but that hasn’t stopped her from looking the other way while he pillages our government. We’ve got a chance to replace Susan Collins and take back the Senate. Democrat Jordan Wood announced he’s running against her to do just that. Jordan’s a fighter who won’t take a DIME of corporate PAC money, so he needs our grassroots support. Will you chip in to help Jordan Wood flip the Senate and defeat Susan Collins?
"American betrayal!": New Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney torches Trump in victory speech after Liberal Party election win
Canada’s newly elected Prime Minister Mark Carney used his election night victory speech to shred Donald Trump’s antagonistic threats against Canadian sovereignty — and vowed Canada would never become America’s "51st state." Carney made Trump the centerpiece of his remarks after his Liberal Party clinched a narrow edge over Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives. While short of a majority, the Liberals’ win marks a stunning political comeback fueled largely by a surge in nationalist sentiment after Trump’s idiotic trade war and incomprehensibly stupid annexation threats. "President Trump is trying to break us so America can own us. That will never — that will never, ever happen," Carney declared Monday night in Ottawa, the same day the MAGA cult leader made a further jibe at the country joining the United States. Well played, Donald! After more than a decade in power, Canada's Liberal Party was clearly on the ropes and poised for electoral defeat, but through deft maneuvering and fearless gamesmanship, you managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and help fuel a resurgent Liberal Party across the proverbial finish line first. The art of the deal, indeed!
Chuck Schumer reveals grand plan to stop Trump from pulling Harvard’s funding: "We sent him a very strong letter"
Other options on the table reportedly included aggressive finger wagging, synchronized brow furrowing, and Chuck shaking his fist on the Senate floor while saying, "Why, I oughta..." out of the corner of his mouth in a 1920s cartoon gangster voice. You can really feel Donald quaking in his jack boots, can't ya? [RETWEET THAT!]

House Democrat Gerry Connolly announces cancer has returned, won't seek reelection: "Sun is setting on my time in public service"
Gerry Connolly, the 75-year-old nine-term congressman from Northern Virginia, announced that his esophageal cancer has unfortunately returned, and he will not seek reelection as a result. "The sun is setting on my time in public service, and this will be my last term in Congress," he wrote. The veteran Democrat will also step away from his duties as ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, a post he won in a spirited battle against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in December. A slew of younger Democrats are in the mix to replace Connolly on the high-profile committee, chief among them Ocasio-Cortez, who has not yet announced her intentions to run for the post.
DOGE employees gain accounts on classified networks holding nuclear secrets
Oh, good! Two members of Elon Musk's DOGE squad — including Luke Farritor, a 23-year-old former SpaceX intern — were given accounts on classified networks that hold highly guarded details about America's nuclear weapons, two sources tell NPR. The DOGE goons have had accounts on the computer systems for at least two weeks, according to the sources who also have access to the networks. Prior to their work at DOGE, neither Farritor nor Adam Ramada, a 35-year-old venture capitalist from Miami, appear to have had any experience with either nuclear weapons or handling classified information. A spokesperson for the Department of Energy initially denied that Farritor and Ramada had accessed the networks, of course, which shockingly turned out to be false. Hey, at least 19-year-old DOGE wunderkind Edward "BIG BALLS" Coristine wasn't given access?
"Tale of two Petes": Fired adviser describes Pentagon chief consumed by image
The ongoing saga of Donald Trump's embattled Secretary of Defending the Liquor Cabinet continues to accelerate as frustrations reach a tipping point and the steady drip of leaks turns to a flood. Former Hegseth advisers tell POLITICO that the one-time Fox News personality is a man consumed by paranoia and obsessed with his self-image, more focused on photo-ops and appearing competent than he actually is at doing his job. Just like the man who hired him.
