Yesterday, I sat on the Capitol steps and shared one of the most painful
memories of my life: holding my husband Andy’s hand as he took his last
breaths after a battle with cancer.

That experience is why I will never stop fighting Republican attempts to
cut access to health care.

Predictably, Stephen Miller jumped at the opportunity to distract his
audience by using schoolyard taunts against me.

is a man pretending to be a woman.

Notice what Stephen is doing here. He doesn’t actually care about women —
men, or anyone for that matter. He’s trying to distract from the fact that
the far-right wants to take away health care from millions of Americans.

The only “pretending” that’s happening here is the Republicans pretending
to care about working people while doing everything they can to make life
harder for them. I’m sick of it.

I’m not here to play into Stephen Miller and the GOP’s
bigotry. No matter how
much they attack me, I’m not backing down. I will protect health care from
their sticky fingers.
