Dear A.,
The United States and Iran held
[link removed]
another round of negotiations this weekend on the regime's nuclear program, with a technical team led by senior State Department official Michael Anton meeting with Iranian officials in Oman.
A further round of negotiations is expected to take place soon.
Speaking at a conference in Jerusalem this weekend, Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized that Iran must not be allowed to possess a domestic uranium enrichment capability,

saying , "a real deal that works is one that removes Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons."
"Dismantle all the infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program. That is a deal we can live with," Netanyahu said, adding, "A bad deal is worse than no deal."
In an

interview with TIME published Friday, President Trump was asked about potential strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, and responded, "It's possible we'll have to attack because Iran will not have a nuclear weapon."
He added, "If we don't make a deal, I'll be leading the pack [to strike Iran]."
AIPAC supports time-bound talks to achieve the Trump administration’s stated goal of verifiably and permanently dismantling Iran’s nuclear program. To be effective, these talks must continue to be coupled with the implementation of maximum pressure and a credible threat of military force.

Marco Rubio on Iran

In an interview with Bari Weiss, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, "As [President Trump] has said very clearly, Iran is not going to have a nuclear weapon, and he reserves every right to prevent that from happening, but he would prefer it not happen... If Iran wants a civil nuclear program, they can have one just like many other countries in the world have one, and that is they import enriched material."

U.S. forces in the Middle East have struck more than 800 Houthi targets since initiating a campaign against the Iran-backed Yemeni terrorists on March 15.
"These strikes have killed hundreds of Houthi fighters and numerous Houthi leaders, including senior Houthi missile and UAV officials" and "destroyed multiple command-and-control facilities, air defense systems, advanced weapons manufacturing facilities, and advanced weapons storage locations," CENTCOM

Today, the Treasury Department imposed

new sanctions to increase the economic pressure on the Houthis.
"Today’s action underscores our commitment to disrupt the Houthis’ efforts to fund their dangerous and destabilizing attacks in the region," Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Michael Faulkender

On Sunday, Israel

The United States must continue to increase the pressure on Iran and its terrorist proxies.
Israel increasing military pressure on Hamas as negotiations ongoing
Prime Minister Netanyahu

said at a conference this weekend, "We have to finish the war in Gaza, get our hostages back and destroy Hamas," and pledged that in Gaza's future, "Hamas will not be there."
This comes as Israel continues to increase the military pressure on Hamas in the enclave, and Israeli officials have pledged to further

expand military operations there if Hamas continues to refuse to release hostages.
According to reports, Israel is also considering

establishing a new humanitarian zone in the Rafah area, south of the Morag Corridor, which bisects Rafah from the rest of Gaza.
Meanwhile, negotiations to secure the release of additional hostages continue. However, an Israeli official was

quoted as saying that Qatar, one of the mediators, has "recently had an influence that was not positive on negotiations." This follows

reports that Qatar may have urged Hamas to reject the latest ceasefire proposal.
The United States must increase the pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in Qatar, Turkey and Iran to release the 59 hostages, including 5 Americans, still held in captivity in Gaza.

appointed Hussein Al-Sheikh as the first-ever vice president of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
Al-Sheikh, 64, is a close ally of Abbas, and his appointment establishes him as a possible successor.
But although Al-Sheikh "is often portrayed as a moderate by the international community,"

watchdog group Palestinian Media Watch reveals that "his statements and activities reveal support for terrorism, glorification of terrorists, promotion of terrorism through Pay-for-Slay, and support for unity with Hamas, even after October 7, 2023."
