Friends,
Over the years, Arlington National Cemetery has been forced to make its requirement for who can be buried there more restrictive. Even many who served in combat today will not be able to be buried in Arlington's hallowed ground — it will be reserved for those who have sacrificed the most such as KIA or those that have been awarded the nation's highest honors.
But even as the Trump Administration attempts to restrict who can be buried in Arlington, they want to change the rules so that Donald Trump can be buried there.
President Trump (or as I like to call him, “Cadet Bone Spurs”) has not earned his place at Arlington National Cemetery. He used his money and privilege to get out of serving in the Vietnam War five times. And since then, he’s repeatedly insulted and attacked our troops, our Veterans and even our Gold Star Families.
And his threatening to deploy active-duty troops to intimidate protestors is shameful and excessive. He’s breaking down the trust between U.S. citizens and our military, putting everyone in danger and demonstrating his complete lack of respect for the U.S. military in the process.
That’s why I’m introducing a bill to ensure that only Veterans and their eligible family members will be buried at Arlington National cemetery. Politicians of both parties who never served in the military have not earned their spot in this hallowed ground.
Thanks for speaking up,
Tammy
