Dear supporter,
Toronto Mayor John Tory wants to build a massive park in the air above the downtown train yards. He says it will cost $1.7 billion, but we just found out it will be at least $3.8 billion.
The worst part? He expects taxpayers from across the country to help pay for it!
We need your help to stop it: SIGN OUR PETITION
Mayor Tory is counting on federal money to bring this vanity project to life, but the federal government debt is already on track to hit $1 trillion this year. And struggling taxpayers from Victoria to St. John’s shouldn’t be forced to pay for a multibillion-dollar Toronto park.
It gets worse: federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine McKenna is looking for ways to spend money.
“We need to do big projects,” said McKenna when asked about project spending. “We need to think big.”
But the timing is terrible. Millions of Canadians just lost their jobs. Look at your wallet. Can you afford to pay more taxes so Toronto’s mayor can have a floating park?
That’s why the Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling on the federal government to say no to the funding for this ridiculous project.

There’s power in numbers. Thanks for your support!
Sincerely,
