* CCPA - California Consumer Privacy Act, the state's new law that governs how some companies store, share, and sell digital information.
* GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation, passed in 2016 by the European Union and largely considered the first major data privacy and online data regulations.
* CPRA - California Privacy Rights Act, a pending ballot initiative that makes more changes to California's current data privacy law.
* Section 230, Communications Decency Act - a federal law that deals with re-posting or publishing third-party information and legal claims on authorship, and has been called the most important law protecting internet speech.
* COPRA - Consumer Privacy Rights Act, a bill introduced in Congress.
* USCDPA - United States Consumer Data Privacy Act, another Congressional bill.
