Glory and honor belong to the Lord and we prayed for the State of Minnesota and United States Saturday last week at the Jericho March! The divide in our state and country is beyond a political solution.

Dear friends and neighbors,

The Legislature came back into session last week after the Easter/Passover recess, and there is now a mere three weeks remaining until the end of the 2025 legislative session on May 19.

Illegal Immigrant Free Health Care Surges While Vulnerable Minnesotans Face Cuts

Background: In 2023, Democrats and Gov. Walz passed a law allowing illegal immigrants to be eligible for free, taxpayer-funded healthcare through MinnesotaCare. Democrats told us only 5,784 illegal immigrants would seek the free healthcare, a number Democrats characterized as “modest, at a cost to MN taxpayers of approximately $45 million.

Contrary to Democrat false claims, more than 17,000 illegal immigrants have signed up thus far in just the first three months at a price tag of $134 million and growing.

Why it matters: Hardworking families across Minnesota struggling to afford their own healthcare costs are being financially squeezed by childcare costs, rising property taxes, and more. At the same time, Minnesota is facing a $6 billion budget deficit. Instead of cutting free healthcare funding for illegals, Democrats have passed bills out of committees cutting funding to seniors, those with disabilities, charter schools, private schools, and more. It’s truly shocking!

Next Steps: Stop the destructive agendas prioritizing illegals over citizens and running Minnesota like an open-border sanctuary.

Mary Moriarty Refuses to Charge Tesla Vandal

Background: A fiscal policy analyst employed by Gov. Walz’s MN Department of Human Services was recently arrested for vandalizing six Tesla vehicles in Minneapolis totaling over $20,000 in damage. Common practice for such a large dollar amount of criminal damage is suspects be criminally charged

Why it Matters: Instead of pressing criminal charges, Hennepin County District Attorney, Mary Moriarty, chose a diversion instead avoiding criminal charges. Moriarty’s abusive power suppresses justice for the victims. Further, Moriarty has shown a clear bias against Tesla, and vandals who target Teslas.

In the week prior to the Tesla vandal story, Moriarty chose to charge a 19-year-old woman with a felony for keying a co-workers car totaling significant less in damages of $7,000. Why would Moriarty charge a $7,000 crime with a felony but not a $20,000 crime? The simple answer is Mary Moriarty is abusing her authority.

Next Steps: Minnesota attorneys and judges should not let vandals walk away scot-free. I will continue pushing to uphold the Rule of Law to ensure criminals are brought to justice for the sake of victims.

Approximately 60% of Walz speech was focused on rants against President Trump vs. focusing on the State of Minnesota.

Governor Walz's State-of-the-State was Divisive as Usual

Background: Wednesday evening last week, Gov. Walz addressed a joint session of the Minnesota Legislature. Walz’s speech started off encouraging bipartisanship and working together, a good message. Just moments later however, Walz ranted against President Trump for 10 minutes, making rude, deceiving, and outright false comments. Rather than assume accountability for his own failures, Gov. Walz continues to blame President Trump.

Why it Matters: Gov. Walz's State-of-the-State address was extremely bi-polar in his attitude toward Republicans and President Trump. In one minute, Walz would compliment Republicans for working with Democrats, and in the next minute, claim Republicans are destroying the lives of Minnesotans. Gov. Walz failed to communicate trust in his mixed messaging. Walz’s attacks were over the top suggesting "University students being swept up, shoved into unmarked vans, and fathers being tossed into Salvadorian gulags."

Next Steps: Gov. Walz has a long history of lying and his State-of-the-State address was full of false assertions. I will continue holding Gov. Walz accountable while focusing on common sense legislation and a fiscally sound budget that works for all Minnesotans.

Attorney General Keith Ellison Sues Trump Again

Background: Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration regarding the federal push to ban transvestites from participating in girls and women's sports. AG Ellison claims President Trump’s push to protect women and girls bullies transgenders.

Why it Matters: Ellison’s newest lawsuit is the next in a long list of lawsuits brought by Ellison. Its interesting Ellison has a strange fixation with President Trump doing the things Trump was overwhelming elected to do. Im concerned Ellison has chosen to target political opponents rather than do the job Ellison was elected to do (prosecute criminals).

Next Steps: While AG Ellison continues to abuse his authority opposing common sense, I will focus on working for the betterment of all Minnesotans.
