Geographic Mobility in the United States by Birth Cohorts or Generations

On Wednesday, April 30, the Census Bureau will release Geographic Mobility in the United States by Birth Cohorts or Generations. Geographic mobility refers to the movement of people within and across geographic boundaries. Birth cohorts are groups of people born during a specific time frame who pass through life together. This report is based on 2005-2023 American Community Survey 1-Year Estimates. 

2023 Annual Survey of School System Finances

On Thursday, May 1, the Census Bureau will release 2023 Annual Survey of School System Finances data. The data files and summary tables will provide new data on current spending per pupil as well as data on revenues, expenditures, debt and assets for public elementary-secondary education (pre-K through 12th grade) in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Maryland and Louisiana

• April 28 is the 237th anniversary of Maryland's statehood.
• April 30 will be the 213th anniversary of Louisiana's statehood.
