Friend — Trump’s evil strategy is two-fold.
On one hand, his administration is recklessly weaponizing our immigration system and our justice system to go after innocent people.
Last week, I went to Louisiana where I met with Rümeysa Öztürk in an ICE detention facility. She is just one of thousands of legal US residents who have been targeted by the Trump administration for exercising free speech.
While Rümeysa sits in a cell awaiting deportation to Turkey, others face an even worse fate. Kilmar Abrego Garcia, was sent to a prison camp in El Salvador with no due process where he remains despite an order to return him to the United States.
But these morally repugnant acts by the Trump administration help them hide the other part of their agenda: Doing everything they can behind the scenes to enrich themselves and their billionaire buddies.
Just two weeks ago, the Republican majorities in Congress passed a preliminary budget plan that would make huge cuts to Medicaid and set the stage for another round of tax breaks for the top 0.1% richest people in our country.
Elon Musk has already wreaked havoc on our federal government, firing workers and gutting crucial programs that benefit the working class, all while protecting subsidies and contracts that go to billionaires CEOs like him.
And that’s not to mention all of the executive orders and directives from Trump that deregulate major industries, allowing corporations to cut corners and pass the cost of business on to families who are already struggling with costs that Trump promised to lower.
Friend — Trump’s agenda is one for the billionaires. Not for regular folks like you.
If we are to fight back, we must build a working class movement that is ready to stand up to the oligarchs, stand up for basic freedoms like due process, defeat the far-right, and create a democracy and economy where all can thrive.

Trump’s two-fold strategy means we have to walk and chew gum at the same time. I know we can do it, but it’s going to take everyone pitching in.
