John,
A few weeks ago, Donald Trump signed an Executive Order gutting the collective bargaining rights of thousands of federal employees.
This EO could cause workers at more than 30 federal agencies — including the VA, CDC, FDA, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement — to lose their ability to unionize, organize, and advocate for basic workplace protections. These are the very same agencies that are already struggling after Trump and Elon slashed staff and fired thousands of employees without cause.
Trump is doing all of this under the guise of promoting “efficiency” or “draining the swamp,” but we know he’s just trying to silence public servants and weaken the federal agencies that millions of Americans rely on every day.
And his cronies are cheering him on. While Trump and Elon try to weaken the workforce, erode trust, and dismantle democracy from the inside, we need to fight back.
That’s why Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick and Jared Golden have introduced the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act, which would reverse Trump’s executive order and restore collective bargaining rights to thousands of federal workers.

Federal unions don’t strike or bargain over wages or benefits. But they do help protect whistleblowers, ensure safe working conditions, and give frontline public servants a voice.
The people who inspect our food, process veterans' claims, respond to disease outbreaks, and support vulnerable families deserve rights in their workplaces — this shouldn’t be a controversial take.
Let’s send a message that we stand with federal workers.
