Dear Georgian,

I hope that you and your families all had a joyous Easter celebration last week!

Meeting with VA Secretary Doug Collins and the Dublin VA Hospital

I recently joined my longtime friend, VA Secretary Doug Collins, and Rep. Rick Allen at the Dublin VA Hospital to meet with their staff.

Secretary Collins is a good man, and I’m confident that veterans' health care will improve under his leadership in Georgia and nationally.

Meeting with Bleckley County Farmers

Recovery from Hurricane Helene is still underway, and last week, I met with farmers in Bleckley County about disaster and economic assistance.

Commissioner Mike Davis was also there, and we all had a great conversation about their priorities in the Farm Bill.

Farmers are resilient and hardworking people. I will continue to support our district's farmers during Hurricane Helene recovery and while drafting the next Farm Bill.

Celebrating GA Cities Week in Sylvester

I joined the City of Sylvester for their Georgia Cities Week legislative luncheon to catch up with local community leaders about their concerns. Thank you to Sylvester Mayor Harold Proctor and city employees for your hard work and public service.

I'm proud to represent Worth County, and it was a joy to celebrate Georgia Cities Week with them.

Touring PCOM South Georgia

The medical students at PCOM South Georgia gave me a tour of their campus in Moultrie last week, where I got to see part of their extensive medical training process.

These students are our future medical leaders, and it was great to learn about their program.

Meeting with Worth County Farmer Mason Roberts

Earlier this year, constituent and 4th generation farmer Mason Roberts visited DC as an advocate with the Fertilizer Institute to discuss his work with nutrient stewardship. This past week, I had the opportunity to visit his farm and see firsthand the work he is doing in Worth County.

I'm thankful that Mason took the time to meet with me while planting his 2025 peanut crop!

Warner Robins is home to Terma's North American headquarters, a defense company specializing in technology to keep our aircraft and airmen safe.

I toured their facility and heard about their capabilities and opportunities for growth in Middle Georgia.

WGXAUS Secretary of Veterans Affairs promises big changes to VA, veterans in Middle Georgia

"According to Doug Collins, the new US Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Dublin's Carl Vinson Medical Center hadn't received a visit in nearly 15 years.

He was joined by Congressmen Austin Scott (R, US-GA 8) and Rick Allen (R, US-GA 12) Monday morning to tour the facility and meet with veterans firsthand.

Although he said he's been on the job for just nine weeks, Collins is looking to fulfill President Donald Trump's wish: putting veterans first.

'If you don't want to help veterans, if you don't want to be a part of making life better, then I encourage you to go find someplace else,' Collins said. 'Good people will not stay where bad people are tolerated and no longer will bad service be tolerated in the VA.'

As an Air Force Vet himself, he knows firsthand just how important good medical care needs to be."
