I'm proud to be on Substack because independent voices aren’t just important right now, they’re essential.
This weekend was "Nerd Prom," the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. While DC celebrated, the real headline wasn’t at a party, it was 60 Minutes delivering a warning the nation needs to hear.
I’m grateful to have been a part of an incredible Substack event this weekend, celebrating the First Amendment and the power of independent media. But even as we gathered in hope, the truth, as 60 Minutes exposed, was undeniable:
The threats. The pressure. The dangerous shift happening right now in America.
An assault on free speech.
An attack on a free press.
And, a growing effort to control and silence factual, independent journalism in the United States.
You need to watch this.
Truth still matters. And so does the fight to defend it. Thank you, Scott Pelley. And thank you, Bill Owens, for your integrity.
