Q. So, the positions and actions of all these actors that oppose annexation are hard to analyze and predict...
A. Correct...
Q. But on security...
A. On security ramifications of annexation we can be relatively substantive and dispel the fog Netanyahu is creating...
Q. Yet beyond the PA and Jordan, the rest of the Arab world is barely threatening a response to annexation...
A. Most of the Arab world appears to have given up on a two-state solution...
Q. You mentioned gradations of annexation that fall short of the Jordan Valley...
A. This is where Benny Gantz becomes a key figure, and potentially a tragic one...
Q. So is Washington the real arena where the fate of annexation will be decided?
A. If Netanyahu persists in ignoring threats from Jordan and the PA and warnings from Gantz, the IDF and Europe, perhaps the threats and warnings from all these actors will have more effect in Washington...
Q. Bottom line?
A. There is simply no alternative to Jordan as Israel's strategic depth east of the Jordan River. And there is no alternative to the Abbas-led PLO and PA as Israel's security partners west of the river...

Peace Now's Shaqued Morag Speaks at Mass Tel Aviv Rally Against Annexation
On Saturday evening, June 6, a mass rally to prevent Israeli annexation in the West Bank was held in Tel Aviv. Peace Now was out in force, and Executive Director Shaqued Morag gave a moving and powerful speech which began with having the crowd kneel in memory of George Floyd and Iyad Halak, a Palestinian with autism who was killed by Israeli police.

Peace Now Part of Significant Israeli High Court Victory
On June 9, *the Expropriation Law designed to pave the way for legalizing dozens of illegal settlement outposts, was struck down* by the Israeli High Court. Peace Now, along with partner NGO's and local Palestinian authorities, brought the petition to the court in 2017.
