Over the last few days, we have heard some pretty divisive rhetoric from the radical leftists calling for “defunding the police.”

While I’d like to be able to tell you those calls are not coming from our district, unfortunately, I have an opponent who has similarly radical views.

Not only has he called for deep cuts for law enforcement and public safety, he wants to make it increasingly difficult for law enforcement officers to do their jobs. 

Let me be clear on my position. I believe that the overwhelming majority of law enforcement personnel are good, upstanding citizens who work hard protecting our communities and keeping us safe. And I am all for punishing bad actors. But I oppose these radical proposals, including “defunding the police.”
