My name is Haley Stevens, and for the last six years, I’ve had the honor of serving as a U.S. representative for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District. Earlier this week, I officially launched my campaign to serve as my great state’s next U.S. senator.
This campaign comes at a serious moment for Michigan and our entire nation. Donald Trump and Elon Musk have thrown us into chaos and uncertainty. As I travel the state and hear firsthand from Michiganders, it’s clear that the people I love are afraid.
Afraid of the rising costs. Afraid of uncertainty in our auto industry. Afraid about the future of the benefits they’ve earned like Social Security and Medicare. Afraid for our democracy and personal freedoms. The fear, the uncertainty, the chaos – all of it is coming from Trump and Musk. That’s unacceptable.
We can stop them by taking back the Senate majority for Democrats, but the only way to do that is by winning what is shaping up to be the biggest, most competitive Senate race right here in Michigan. That’s why I’ve set a campaign launch goal to raise $1 million from grassroots supporters like you.

I was born in Oakland County, Michigan, and was raised by parents who were always building things – they owned their own landscaping business. Heavy machinery equipment, bobcats, plows, dirt, grease, and grime were all part of my childhood. But what I remember learning from my parents most was the value of hard work. It’s a value that bonds all of us across Michigan, a state that helped build this entire country.
Growing up in Michigan meant I was surrounded by innovation and ingenuity, pride and hard work. From our farmers to nurses to manufacturers, we have the best workers in the world.
Working hard should earn you a seat in the middle class, but that’s only growing more difficult under a president who said he couldn’t care less if auto prices skyrocket thanks to his shoot-from-the-hip tariffs.
It’s clear that Donald Trump and his Republican allies don’t know the first thing about workers or the middle class. And the kicker is that they don’t care, either.
Michiganders shouldn’t have to worry if they’ll lose their jobs because of Donald Trump or Elon Musk’s reckless decisions. They shouldn’t have to worry about the future of our fundamental civil rights and personal freedoms. No American should.
But here’s the reality, friend: Trump calls nearly every shot because he controls the White House, the House, AND the Senate. Michigan’s open Senate seat represents our best chance to flip the Senate and take that power back from Trump.
I will fight with everything I have to win this seat, stop Trump’s chaos, and give the people the leadership they deserve – but it’s going to take an unprecedented grassroots movement to get it done. Just last year, Trump and Republicans spent nearly $80 million trying to buy Michigan’s Senate seat, and Democrats won by just 0.3%. That’s less than 20,000 votes.
