Friend — One of the many things I love about Massachusetts is our history.
Massachusetts is the birthplace of American democracy and the revolution that earned our nation its independence. It’s amazing to think that 250 years ago this week, the people of Massachusetts decided that freedom and democracy were worth fighting for and put everything on the line for that cause.
Now, 250 years later, that democracy is under perhaps the greatest threat it's ever faced. Donald Trump wants to be a dictator, and he’s paving the way to that eventuality.
He’s gutting budgets and agencies that were duly legislated by Congress. He’s ignoring federal court orders that limit his powers and actions. He’s using ICE to disappear people for political speech. He’s suspending due process for legal US residents. He’s weaponizing the Department of Justice to go after his enemies. And the list goes on.
So when I think about our history, I think about how the course we’re on is unsustainable. Americans won’t stand for lawlessness and tyranny, just as my fellow Bay Staters fought against it in 1775.
There is already a popular movement growing in opposition to Trump’s actions, a movement of people of all backgrounds who believe that our democracy, no matter how flawed, is worth protecting. Now is the time to turn up the heat and make our voices even louder.
Make a contribution today and help us push this movement to even greater heights. We must expose Donald Trump’s authoritarian actions and rally more and more Americans to the side of democracy, freedom, and progress for all.

This is a tough fight, but it’s worth it. I hope I can count on you to stand by my side as I do everything I can to fight this lawless president.
In solidarity,
