This
is difficult to hear – but it’s critically important for you to
understand.
Vulnerable
children are being abducted and sold into sex trafficking at the highest
rates in history.
A
massive surge in
immigration, skyrocketing
drug use, and a 22%
increase in online recruitment of victims during the pandemic are
all to blame for the estimated 50,000 children who will be sold
into sex trafficking in the United States this year.
Rescuing
minors from their abusers and combatting the multi-billion-dollar human
trafficking and child sex “industry” — which is larger than the
global cocaine market — takes a great deal of resources.
As the producer of the feature film Sound of Freedom — which you have
likely seen or heard about — I helped sound the alarm about the horrific
realities of the $9.5 BILLION human trafficking and child sex
industry.
Based on a true story, Sound of Freedom
tells the gut-wrenching story of a brother and sister — Miguel and
Rocío Aguilar — who were abducted and sold to be used as sex slaves …
taken by organized criminals who tricked their father.
Sound of Freedom was a box office hit
and gave us the platform to spread awareness about children who must be
rescued from unimaginably horrific realities.
Now, through The Sound of Freedom Foundation, we identify and track cases
of child abduction and trafficking, and we tirelessly search for and rescue
defenseless victims.
Shockingly,
the average age of victims is 12 years old and 79% of all human trafficking
cases are for sexual exploitation.
In many cases, abduction occurs internationally and there are costs
associated with hiring attorneys, filing petitions, and even traveling to
the country where the child is located.
While
the cost of returning an abducted child varies depending on the case, the
truth is that the rescue of a missing child is an incredibly complex and
expensive mission.
At the Sound of Freedom Foundation, we firmly believe that no family
deserves to end the search for their child because there isn’t the
financial ability to continue their fight!
Imagine
learning that your child, grandchild, or family friend vanished and having
no idea where in the world they are and if they’re being sold by sex
traffickers.
It
makes your stomach churn just to think about such a thing.
