Public education is under attack in Texas,

hold our legislators accountable for this?

Whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, or something else — Texans deserve
the final say over something as consequential as public school funding.
But Abbott’s Republican House refused to allow an amendment to this bill
that would put the question to the voters.

Republicans passed this bill behind closed doors — because they knew the
public would reject it.

To apply for a private school voucher, you have to prove U.S. citizenship.
This means thousands of undocumented children will be singled out and left
behind in underfunded, neglected public schools.

This proposed law is about power, profits, and politics — not what’s best
for our children. Greg Abbott and his cronies:

* Don’t believe in the common good — so they’re gutting a system built
to serve everyone.
* Can’t stand working people having power — so they’re starving
teachers’ unions.
* Never miss a payday — so they’re funneling $1 billion of public
dollars to their private education donors.

Texans deserve better — and we won’t back down. Powered by People is
organizing town halls, registering voters, and holding lawmakers
accountable across the state, but we need your help.
