John,

We’re coming up on the end of the month, and I wanted to personally share a few important updates from Washington—the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The bad: Pete Hegseth is refusing to take accountability for his national security breach—we’re still waiting on him to accept responsibility and come answer to Congress.

Here's where things get ugly: The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the Trump administration must facilitate the return of wrongfully deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead of following the law and obeying court orders, Trump has continued to attack due process and Abrego Garcia remains in custody in El Salvador.

Some good news: The Pentagon is set to resume gender-affirming care for transgender service members.

John, I’ve submitted several amicus briefs to help our courts delay the Trump administration’s attacks on the transgender community in the military. Transgender service members are patriots who deserve our gratitude and support, and I’m glad to see the Pentagon doing the right thing.

One last thing, John. I’m working hard to be a **fighter** for the San Gabriel Valley and stand up to this dangerous administration in Congress, but I can’t continue to do this work without your help.

Our End of Month fundraising deadline is FOUR DAYS AWAY! Your support now helps us build up the resources to oppose Trump’s harmful agenda. Can we count on you to pitch in today and help me and my team raise the $3,485 more we need online to reach our goal? >>

REACH OUR GOAL

Thank you and in service,
Rep. Gil Cisneros

As an officer in the U.S. Navy, education nonprofit leader, Congressman, and Under Secretary of Defense, Gil Cisneros has dedicated his life to service, taking action, and getting results for people. From helping open doors of opportunity to San Gabriel Valley students through providing college scholarships, to standing up to the Gun Lobby in Congress, to protecting the right to comprehensive reproductive care for stationed service members while at the Pentagon, Gil has always stood up for his community and California values.

Gil Cisneros Headshot

The son of a public school cafeteria worker and a Vietnam veteran, and the grandson of WWII veterans, Gil understood the importance of public service. After graduating high school, Gil enlisted in the U.S. Navy, driven by a desire to serve his nation and a determination to carve out a brighter future. He earned an ROTC Scholarship and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University. Gil also holds an MBA from Regis University and M.A. in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.

After the election of Donald Trump, Gil could not sit on the sidelines – he ran for California’s 39th Congressional District and won with the support of middle-class families and labor unions.

Now with MAGA extremists running the House of Representatives, Gil is looking to stand up for the San Gabriel Valley and continue his mission of service, advocating for veterans, gun safety reform, economic opportunity for working families, climate action, and defending women’s rights.
