It’s been another week, John!
On Saturday, I went to a town hall with Representative Jimmy Gomez. His focus was on getting organized and it was inspiring to be with so many folks ready to get into ACTION! I was going to double-up and go to the “No Kings” protest afterwards, but decided to spend the rest of the day with my daughter who was home for the holiday. Just a friendly reminder that we need your energy in this fight for the long-term — so do take care of yourself.
This is one of the most significant reckonings our country has ever seen, but we will get through it and when we do, I know we will be better and stronger for having experienced these challenging times and knowing ourselves better as a country. But there's a lot of work ahead. This is indeed a marathon not a sprint so let’s take care of ourselves and each other.
This week on The Practivist Pod, I had a great conversation with one of Blue Wave California’s frontline Congressmembers, George Whitesides. We talked about the needs of Californians impacted by recent wildfires, the dire consequences of Republican Medicaid cuts, protecting Social Security, and so much more.

“It’s a very scary time for a lot of people. It’s a dark time. I think people don’t really know exactly what they can do. But they are starting to be more active. Raising their voices. Because they don’t see any alternative. Because we have to step up and keep raising our voices.”
From the homes of California to the halls of DC, our impact is being felt. Our activism and voices are making a difference and putting pressure on the Trump regime. Now, it’s our job to sustain that movement toward the midterm elections and take back power in the House!
