John,
It’s less than a month to go until election day in the Eden-Monaro by-election and one thing is clear – Scott Morrison and the Liberals are throwing everything they’ve got at this to win.
They’ve rolled out Scott Morrison and Liberal Ministers at staged media events so that they can get their candidate on the news as much as possible.
They’ve started blanketing the electorate with a big TV and digital ad campaign designed to build up their candidate’s profile.
I’ve always said that this was going to be a tough fight to hold on to this seat for Labor. We have an amazing local
candidate in Kristy McBain and we need to throw everything we can at the campaign to get her elected.
We need to get more digital, TV, print and radio ads, we need to get more resources on the ground, and we need to speak to
more undecided voters as soon as possible.
I know that Kristy McBain and our campaign team are giving it all they’ve got and they’re doing an amazing job,
but the Liberals will stop at nothing to win this and we can’t let them pull ahead.
The whole of the labour movement has come together from coast-to-coast to chip in to help the campaign and fight to give the people of Eden-Monaro a strong local voice that will stand up for them in Parliament.
Labor’s strength is our solidarity and that’s something the Liberals will never have.
This campaign will be an uphill battle but I know that we can win if our Labor movement works together to get Kristy McBain
across the line.
The people of Eden-Monaro deserve a strong, local, Labor voice in Parliament and it’s up to us to make sure
that happens.
In solidarity,
Paul Erickson
