** Alaska Housing Finance Corporation Announces Mortgage and Rental Relief for Qualifying Alaskans
------------------------------------------------------------

On June 8, 2020 Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy and Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) jointly announced rent and mortgage relief for households economically impacted by COVID.

AHFC will be distributing $10 Million for homeless prevention with a focus on Alaskans who lost income due to COVID-19 and without government assistance may otherwise lose their housing to eviction or foreclosure.

Who Is Eligible?
* Families in Alaska with households that have lost income and are at less than 80% of Area Median Income as a result of COVID-19 are eligible to apply for up to one month of rent or mortgage relief.
* Rent relief excludes utilities; mortgage relief includes principal and interest only.
* Each household is eligible for a maximum of $1,200.
* The new website has a prescreening tool that can be used to determine eligibility.
* Alaskans can learn about program requirements at www.AlaskaHousingRelief.org.

Important Dates:
* Monday June 15, 2020: Application period begins
* Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:59 P.M. AKDT: Deadline for application submission

Application Information:
* A basic questionnaire includes the applicants’ name, primary residence address, and certification of loss of income.
* For those unable to access the online application, calling or texting ‘RELIEF’ to (833) 440-0420 offers an alternative.
* Based on available funding, recipients will be asked to provide additional information that verifies their loss of income and includes contact information for their landlord and/or mortgage servicer.
* At closure of the application period, a lottery will be conducted of all qualified applications.
* Applicants will be contacted if their application is approved.

If an application is approved, AHFC will make payment to the landlord or mortgage servicer on behalf of the recipient. Payments distribution is targeted for July 2020.

** Anchorage Health Department seeking RFPs for Outreach & Referral Services To Unsheltered Individuals Experiencing Homelessness

*DEADLINE TOMORROW
THURSDAY, JUNE 11, AT 5PM*
------------------------------------------------------------

On April 28, 2020, the Anchorage Assembly approved budget revisions that include funds to support outreach services for unsheltered individuals. With the new funding made available, the Anchorage Health Department (AHD) is seeking outreach services to include:
* Canvasing to engage with unsheltered individuals (clients)
* Establishing relationships with clients in a manner enabling outreach staff to make relevant referrals
* Enrolling clients into a program
* Entering client data into the Alaska Homeless Management Information System (AK HMIS)
* To the degree possible, transitioning clients into the larger shelter and permanent housing systems within Anchorage

Additionally, AHD would like providers to provide public health messaging and personal health supplies (such as masks, hand sanitizer, etc.). Outreach staff must also coordinate with the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness (ACEH) and through them, various Municipal departments, such as AHD, the Anchorage Police Department (Community Action Policing team and Mobile Intervention Team), and Anchorage Fire Department, as well as other entities driven by client need. The contract is intended to begin in July 2020 and conclude by December 31, 2020. AHD hopes this short-term infusion of resources will provide a valid demonstration period, with possible future funding opportunities for successful programs.

Important Dates:
* Proposals Due: 5:00 P.M. Local Time, June 11, 2020
