America needs police reform and we need it now. That’s why I joined my colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus to introduce the Justice in Policing Act of 2020. Will you become a citizen co-sponsor of this critical piece of legislation to end police violence? 

This legislation takes immediate action to end systemic harm being inflicted on Black Americans. Specifically, this legislation would demilitarize police forces, ban chokeholds, make lynching a federal crime, and so much more.

Democrats are working hard to make sure we pass this important piece of legislation, but we face a tough fight. Despite the bill’s support from over 200 of my colleagues, Congressional Republicans have shown little interest in taking this bill seriously.

But that doesn’t change the reality of the violence that Black and brown Americans face every day at the hands of law enforcement, and that is why we need to fight like hell to get this legislation passed.

That is why I am asking you to become a citizen co-sponsor of the Justice in Policing Act of 2020.  We need to show Congressional Republicans that Americans from all walks of life stand united in passing this critical piece of legislation to end police violence.
