Hi John,
My Democratic opponent Derek Kilmer wants to cut Social Security and Medicare. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. We cannot let this stand. Can you donate $3 now, so I win when ballots drop in 5 weeks?
Unbelievable.
Kilmer signed onto a letter with Republicans and other corporate Democrats that expresses concern about the federal debt. The letter calls for “rescue committees” to study Social Security, Medicare, Disability, and more.
This is code for cutting Social Security and Medicare.
The idea that Social Security is running out of money and that it’s contributing to the federal debt is absolute nonsense. Social Security had a surplus of $2.5 billion in 2019 — despite the doomsdayers who said 2017 was the last year it would EVER run a surplus EVER again.
Also, is the middle of a pandemic really the time to be fear mongering about this?
Everyone deserves a decent, dignified retirement with a high quality of life. No one should worry that corporate politicians are going to cut their benefits or raise the retirement age on them.
My pledge to you is that I will NEVER vote to cut Social Security. In fact, I will fight to expand it.
Can you donate now to help me win, so I can fight for expanding Social Security in Congress? I am behind in my fundraising, and if I don’t raise more, we’ll have to cut back phone banking.
It isn’t easy running against the establishment like I am. The state party denied me access to their voter database, canvassing tool, and list of voters’ phone numbers, so I’ve had to pay well over $10,000 for those resources myself.
Establishment blackballing doesn’t intimidate me, but it does mean I need your help more than ever. With the system stacked against progressive challengers like me, your help is absolutely critical.
Simply put: I need money to pay for phone banking, and it doesn’t come cheap.
If you can, please give $3 here, so we can keep hitting the phones and win in August:
