Hey there -- we wanted to make sure you saw Sebastian's email below about signing up for the Schools & Communities First virtual town hall happening TONIGHT at 5:30pm!
Don't miss your chance to join thousands of activists and supporters from across California as we hear from some inspiring leaders — like Dolores Huerta, Pastor Sam Casey of COPE, and Lian Cheun of Khmer Girls in Action — as we fight to change how we invest in people across California.
On June 10th at 5:30pm hundreds of activists and supporters are coming together for a virtual town hall as we plan Schools & Communities First’s path to victory this November. This special event will center around what’s at stake in this election and how you can help build a California that fulfills its promise of opportunity for everyone.
JOIN US June 10th at 5:30 pm. Space is limited! >>
Recent events, from COVID-19 to protests, have made it clearer than ever that the status quo might be working just fine for large corporations and wealthy investors but not for hardworking Californians. Now, more than ever, we must invest in our public schools and our local services -- especially in communities that need those resources the most. While Schools & Communities First alone will not fix the legacy of racism and violence against communities of color, it is an opportunity to fundamentally change how we invest in what we value.
Last week, while Californians from all walks of life took to the streets, Schools & Communities First officially qualified for the 2020 ballot. It’s a major step forward, but this fight is far from over. On June 10 at 5:30 pm, you can find out how to be part of history and help pass Schools & Communities First. Join inspiring speakers, workers who have been on the frontlines of the COVID response, and activists as we honor the hard work that got Schools & Communities First on the ballot and plan the path to victory.
Thank you for supporting Schools & Communities First in the fight to invest in the people and community services that keep our schools and public health systems thriving!

The Schools & Communities First initiative reclaims $12 billion every year for California’s schools and local communities by closing commercial property tax loopholes benefiting a fraction of corporations and wealthy investors. The initiative benefits residents and small businesses by exempting homeowners and renters from any changes while implementing new tax relief for small businesses.
