Perhaps the party that spent the better part of a decade decrying Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server as Sec. of State and calling for her imprisonment might take issue with this latest bombshell revelation? And you know he means it because he posted it on social media! Trump is currently trying to force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept laughably lopsided "peace" terms where Russia faces basically no consequences for its brutal invasion while Ukraine loses huge swaths of territory — including Crimea, which Putin illegally annexed in 2014 — and is permanently denied a pathway to join NATO. Oh, Russia's "concessions" include NOT taking over the entirety of Ukraine. Seriously. Zelenskyy swiftly rejected the "peace plan," in part because it violates Ukraine's constitution. The only way Ukraine can formally recognize a Russian takeover of Crimea is through public referendum, an inconvenient truth Trump and his goons are willfully ignoring in their rush to give Putin everything he wants to end the war.

Trump pardons MAGA politician who paid for plastic surgery with funds for slain officer
On brand as ever, the MAGA cult leader pardoned Michele Fiore, a former Las Vegas city councilwoman and Republican state lawmaker who ran unsuccessfully in 2022 for state treasurer, who was awaiting sentencing on federal charges that she used money meant for a statue honoring a slain police officer for personal costs, including plastic surgery. Fiore was found guilty in October of six counts of federal wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, BUT — and this is really important — she also has said really nice things about Donald Trump on numerous occasions and has been a loyal MAGA supporter for years. According to federal prosecutors Fiore raised more than $70,000 for the statue of a Las Vegas police officer who was fatally shot in 2014 in the line of duty, but had instead spent some of the funds on cosmetic surgery, rent, and her daughter’s wedding. Cool. Fiore, who does not have a law degree, was appointed as a judge in deep-red Nye County in 2022 shortly after she lost her campaign for state treasurer but was suspended from duties as her trial unfolded. Newly pardoned, Fiore said she plans to return to the bench next week. It is SO good to be great again.

Trump-appointed judge orders second immigrant returned from El Salvador prison
US District Judge Stephanie Gallagher, a Trump appointee, ruled Wednesday that a second man must be returned from the El Salvador megaprison where he was hastily deported by the Trump regime in March. The man, referred to in court documents by the pseudonym Cristian, was among those swept up by ICE agents and flown to a brutal facility where inmates are told they will never leave. Cristian, age 20, is a native of Venezuela. Gallagher's order came in response to an emergency motion made in a class-action suit originally filed back in 2019 against the Department of Homeland Security, which included Cristian among its plaintiffs. The parties reached a settlement in 2024 stipulating that they could legally remain in the country while their individual asylum claims were processed in the courts. All had been brought into the country as children. Gallagher further ordered the administration not to remove any other individuals covered under the settlement agreement. Trump's goons are almost certain to fight the order, because cruelty is the point, they give zero shits for due process, and admitting error is tantamount to waving the, uh, white flag in their crusade to make America "great" again.

On January 8, 2025, senior NYPD staff joined over 150 law enforcement officers, city officials, and religious leaders at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Lower Manhattan for a training on combating antisemitism. In a press release about the event, the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) — which led the training alongside George Washington University’s Program on Extremism (POE) — said the presentation aimed to teach the police "how to recognize and address antisemitism in its many contemporary forms" and offered "tools to counter it." But the presentation itself, exclusively obtained by Jewish Currents, was in large part concerned with pro-Palestine activism, casting the Palestine solidarity movement as a significant threat to Jewish safety despite consistent documentation that antisemitism in the United States is most prevalent among far-right white nationalists. The training, which focused heavily on student protesters, repeatedly conflated antisemitism with anti-Zionism. It categorized campus demonstrators as extremists tied to Hamas, and branded as antisemitic Palestinian symbols like the watermelon and the traditional headdress called a keffiyeh, as well as phrases such as "settler colonialism" and "all eyes on Rafah."

Long Island beekeeper unmasked as alleged Rwandan genocide leader
A 65-year-old beekeeper in Central Islip, New York, has been unmasked as an alleged perpetrator of the Rwandan genocide. The Department of Justice announced Thursday that Faustin Nsabumukunzi of Bridgehampton was charged with lying on his green card and US citizenship applications about his role in the 1994 genocide. The DOJ said court documents showed that Nsabumukunzi used his power as a local leader to oversee violence against the minority Tutsi population by implementing roadblocks and participating in the killings. Nsabumukunzi was later convicted in absentia by a Rwandan court for genocide, the DOJ said, citing court filings. He moved to the United States under a refugee resettlement program in 2003, received a green card four years later, and submitted applications for naturalization in 2009 and 2015. The DOJ accused Nsabumukunzi of lying to US immigration officials in his applications by falsely denying any involvement in the Rwandan genocide. He was charged with one count of visa fraud and two counts of attempted naturalization fraud in violation, which come with a penalty of up to 30 years in prison. The New York Times reported that Nsabumukunzi pleaded not guilty on Thursday and was released on a $250,000 bond posted by Steve Felsher, a private equity entrepreneur on Long Island.
