Activist In Residence Fellows

The Center's Activist-in-Residence Fellowship supports six emerging and established LGBTQ+ activists with bold ideas for advancing social justice in New York. Centering BIPoC leadership, this year’s fellowship projects range from braiding workshops exploring Black hair politics and self-empowerment, free dance classes rooted in queer Black and Latinx traditions, a documentary film project spotlighting the history of Black queer safe spaces, a resource hub and digital archive to support TGNC youth, mental health programming for TGNC immigrants; and creative sewing workshops focused on sustainability, skill-building, and community connection.
