I came across this photo from my law school days, and I couldn’t help but reflect on just how far this journey has taken me.
When I see this photo from my time at Villanova Law School, I see a young woman filled with big dreams and an even bigger determination to make a difference.
When I decided to go to law school, I wasn’t thinking about Harrisburg. I was thinking about the people in my community — the ones who worked hard, lived with dignity, and deserved a government that treated them fairly.
That’s what led me to walk into courtrooms as a public defender, and it’s what ultimately led me to Harrisburg to serve my neighbors and fight for every Pennsylvanian's voice to be heard.
Today, that same commitment drives my work as Speaker of the PA House.
We’ve made incredible progress together: protecting abortion rights, defending our democracy, and investing in our schools and communities. But none of it has been easy, and the future of our progress isn’t guaranteed.
From the lecture halls at Villanova to the floor of the State House, I’ve always kept my mission front of mind: to fight for fairness, dignity, and opportunity for everyone. And every step of the way, I’ve never forgotten what I’m fighting for.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being a part of this journey.
