Whether you’re working inside an organization or organizing on the ground, one thing is clear: values alone won’t shift systems. Racial equity isn’t just a vision – it’s a fight for power. Not the kind rooted in domination or hierarchy, but shared, strategic, liberatory power that builds with our communities and transforms the systems that harm us.
That’s what Power Building for Racial Equity (PRE) is all about.
PRE is designed for nonprofit professionals, grassroots organizers, and movement leaders who are ready to move beyond frameworks and into strategy. It’s a space for people who are thinking about the long game: Thinking about how we build power together, how we align our values with our tactics, and how we make racial equity real at every level of our work.
| |
If you’ve already taken our Building Racial Equity (BRE) or Governing for Racial Equity (GRE) trainings, this is your next step. And if you’re rooted in community organizing or justice work, PRE will sharpen your analysis and expand your toolkit.
In this workshop, we’ll explore:
- What it means to build collective power in ways that resist replicating old hierarchies
- How base-building, narrative shift, and policy change can work in concert
- Why racial equity requires both internal transformation and external pressure
- Tools and questions to help you assess the power dynamics in your workplace, coalition, or campaign
We don’t take power lightly. Systemic racism is a methodology of power – structured, intentional, and violent. If we are going to dismantle it, we need a methodology of our own: collective, accountable, strategic, and enduring.

This election year is a reminder – yet again – racial equity doesn’t advance on its own. It takes alignment. It takes strategy. It takes people like you who are willing to do the work of building and wielding power differently.
We hope to see you in the room.
