Friends,

Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was forced to disavow Ted Howze, a Republican House candidate and confirmed bigot.

According to POLITICO, Ted Howze -- in a series of social media posts -- “derided Muslims, disseminated conspiracy theories, and insinuated that Democratic elected officials were guilty of murder.”

Sounds like an open-and-shut case: Howze is clearly unfit for public office. But McCarthy didn’t quite reach that conclusion right away -- instead he dragged his feet for days after the California Republican Party withdrew their support for Howze.

We should expect more from our national leadership, no matter which side of the aisle they’re on. McCarthy endorsed a bigot and then waited until the last minute to wash his hands of Howze. His hands still look dirty to us, though -- what do you think?
