Today we celebrate!

Last night we had one of our greatest victories at Brand New Congress. Paula Jean Swearengin in West Virginia blew past her primary challengers and is headed to the general election in November to take on Trump-apologist Republican Shelley Moore Capito.

Paula was one of the first to answer the call and run as a Brand New Congress candidate. First nominated by her community in 2017, Paula proved last night that progressive values CAN WIN in West Virginia.

Now the real work begins. As Paula Jean said during her victory speech last night:

“Tonight we celebrate our primary win, but we have a lot of work ahead of us. The protests across the world for justice are what this movement is about. Not one election or candidate can solve the systemic issues that plague our society, but together we can stand in solidarity and fight for a better tomorrow.”
