"It was a long battle, carried out in Congressional hearings and in the public square for more than a year. But ultimately, after a century of talk, decades of trying, and a year of bipartisan debate, our generation was the one that succeeded. We finally declared that in America, health care is not a privilege for a few, but a right for everybody."

That’s Barack Obama speaking on his crowning achievement as president -- the passing of the landmark legislation known as the Affordable Care Act. Since the ACA was written into law, over 20 million Americans have received health insurance coverage who otherwise wouldn’t have -- a proud legacy of the country’s 44th commander-in-chief.

But Obama’s legacy is on the line this fall.

If Republicans get their wish, the Supreme Court will completely overturn the ACA in October -- eliminating any chance of expanding the law in the future and jeopardizing the health of millions of vulnerable Americans at the worst possible moment.

Meanwhile, Democrats are hoping they’ll use the November election to protect the House, flip the Senate, and win back the White House -- and then be able to pass and enact the hundreds of bipartisan bills previously passed by the House that Mitch McConnell has blocked from getting a vote.

Two of these bills, the Protecting Americans with Preexisting Conditions Act of 2019 and the Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act, would bolster the Affordable Care Act and further protect Americans from predatory politicians and pharmaceutical companies.

But if the GOP strikes first, Democrats will never get the chance. Do you agree we must strengthen the ACA and protect it from Republican attacks, now, so that never happens?
