Dear Friend,

Prescription drug prices are STILL going through the roof.

Yesterday it was revealed that a promising new rheumatoid arthritis drug is coming onto the market. The catch -- it will cost $59,000 a year!!! That’s nuts.

That’s why we need you to take a moment and send a message to Capitol Hill.

We're about 5,100 signatures away from our target. We need a show of strength to counter the millions that the pharmaceutical lobbyists are spending to prevent change.

If everyone pitches in, we can force them to act. Please help us out and send a message to your member today.

A majority of Americans -- Democrats, Republicans and Independents -- agree that the system needs to be changed, but Congress isn’t acting.

Thank you,

Subject: ACTION NEEDED: Take on Pharmaceutical Companies

Dear Friend,

Nearly 1 in 4 Americans say that they didn’t fill a prescription in the last 12 months because they can’t afford it. Meanwhile the pharmaceutical corporations are raking in billions in profits. They are literally spending millions on lobbyists and campaign contributions to fend off proposals that will make drugs affordable for all of us.

The only way to beat them is if millions of Americans demand it. Please click to send a letter to your lawmakers here.

It’s high time that our legislators put the interest of patients ahead of corporate greed. That’s why Alliance members are teaming up with allies from other organizations for a National Day of Action to Put Patients over Pharma Profits.

There will be events in 30 states and Alliance members will deliver “prescriptions for lower drug prices” to their senators and members of Congress. We must DEMAND that strong, meaningful legislation to lower drug prices be a top priority when Congress returns to Washington next month.

Can we count on you? Click to send your letter now.

The American people want action. Congress should enact legislation to:

  • Allow Medicare to negotiate prices
  • Remove provisions in the NAFTA 2.0 trade agreement that lock in high prices
  • Allow importation of lower priced drugs from countries with high safety standards
  • Get lower priced generic drugs to market faster

Thanks for all you do.
