Montanans know that the best beef in the world comes from Big Sky Country. That’s why we’re the top state in the nation when it comes to exporting cattle.

And listen, the work of Montana ranchers doesn’t only help stock supermarket shelves across the country. Their work represents the engine of our state’s agriculture-based economy.

Look, these hard-working Montanans deserve a government that fully supports their livelihoods. But right now, under extreme Republican leadership, they’re receiving the opposite.

Because of Donald Trump’s reckless trade war, Montana beef is now subject to a massive tariff from China, shutting out Montana ranchers. Make no mistake: Beef trade with China would be huge for our state, John. It would create good-paying jobs, spur our economy, and bring in millions of extra dollars to pay for critical services like infrastructure, public schools, and so much more.

But where’s the beef? Thanks to Trump’s tariffs and the inaction of Montana Republicans in Washington, Montana’s ranchers, and our economy as a whole, are losing out.
