As your new Democratic Party of Oregon Chair, I am committed to doing everything I can every day to organize, fight, and win. The most vulnerable in our communities and those who rely on policies Democrats support must be able to count on an organized, unified, and effective Democratic Party. Everyday Oregon Democratic leaders are battling MAGA Republican efforts to:
* Cut Medicare and Social Security: Pushing proposals to cut medicare and social security and raise the costs of prescription drugs and health care premiums for all.
* Push Mass Government Layoffs: Illegally firing hundreds of thousands of government employees - recklessly leaving our nuclear armament exposed, veterans getting no or subpar services, putting our local electrical grid at risk and causing suffering for our most vulnerable families.
* Deport Hundreds of Thousands: Cruelly targeting and forcing hard-working individuals, many who are tax-payers who have been here for years, to leave the place they call home and flagrantly ignoring judges who tell them to stop.
* Destroy the Environment Just to Fill Their Own Pockets: Ignoring climate change, rolling back policies protecting the planet, and increasing oil, gas, and timber production.
* Attack Transgender Rights: Advancing anti-trans bills across the country. From banning transition care to drag shows, limiting access to bathrooms and sports, they fight to destroy the rights of these individuals.
* Ban Books and Weaken Education: Fighting to ban books in schools and libraries. With the bans often focusing disproportionately on age-appropriate books about race, gender, sexuality and social justice.
