Friends —
Hours-long lines. Broken machines.
What happened in Georgia yesterday underscores the need to fix our broken elections system. We should be working hard to make sure it’s easier for every American to vote. It’s completely ridiculous that some folks had to wait in line for four hours to cast their ballots.
Mark Warner is working with his Senate colleagues to fix our broken system and give every American fair access to cast their ballot come November through the VoteSafe Act.
The VoteSafe Act aims to help people cast their ballots safely by:
-
Requiring every state to allow all residents to vote by mail in all 2020 elections;
-
Mandating that every state conduct early in-person voting for at least 20 days prior to all remaining 2020 elections; and
-
Improving the voter registration process, to make sure that everyone is ready for Election Day.
Add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of this important bill.
Thanks to our General Assembly, Virginia already has expanded ballot access. Now, it’s our responsibility to ensure that every American has the same opportunity to safely cast their ballot. We have the chance to make sure these protections are in place before the general election, but it’s critical that we get the word out about this important bill.
Mark is committed to making sure everyone has the opportunity to cast their vote in November — without having to make the choice between casting their ballot and protecting their health. Will you help Mark raise public awareness of the VoteSafe Act and become a citizen co-sponsor?
Thank you,
Team Warner
