When I learned the Trump Administration was planning to quietly gut
federal funding that helps manufacturers here in Delaware, I knew I had to
act fast.
Within hours, I got to work.
I raised awareness back home. I pulled together support from 85 of my
colleagues in Congress. And I made the case that cutting support for small
and mid-sized businesses wasn’t just shortsighted – it was unacceptable.
And we won.

manufacturing support program, for now
The Trump Administration reversed the cuts. That means funding for
Delaware’s Manufacturing Extension program (DEMEP) – and others nationwide
– is back.
But here’s the thing: This fix is temporary. The funding only lasts
through the end of the year.
If we don’t keep up the pressure, this critical program, which helped
generate $42.5 million in new investments and kept 432 manufacturing jobs
in Delaware, could be back on the chopping block.
That’s why I’m asking: [ [link removed] ]Will you chip in $5 or whatever
you can to help us protect manufacturers – and keep fighting for working
people?

This is
exactly why I came to Congress.
Not to score political points. But to solve problems. To show up, listen,
and deliver for the people of Delaware – no matter what we’re up against.
Programs like DEMEP don’t make headlines every day, but they make a real
difference. For families, for jobs, and for communities up and down our
state.
And I won’t be done fighting until this vital program is protected for
good.
With gratitude,
Sarah McBride
