Mass deportation has been a major talking point and campaign promise for former President Trump this election cycle. In response, Global Refuge President & CEO Krish O’Mara Vignarajah wrote an op-ed for the Baltimore Sun outlining how it would negatively impact Maryland. The piece warns of the plan’s human cost, explaining that it would be the largest family separation operation in history. Read more here ([link removed]) .

Vignarajah also provided commentary to Baltimore’s NPR affiliate WYPR, expressing concern about the mass deportation plan’s local implications and what the next presidential administration will mean for asylum seekers and TPS holders. Listen to the interview ([link removed]) .

We invite you to join us as we address these questions and more at our special webinar, Election 2024: What the Results Mean for Immigrants and Refugees on November 22, 2024 at 12 p.m. ET.

Global Refuge President & CEO Krish O'Mara Vignarajah and members of our senior leadership team will discuss where the work of welcome stands after the election and share our next steps as we support and advocate for immigrants and refugees.

** Feel Good Friday 😊: Stronger Together
------------------------------------------------------------

More than 600 members of our Global Refuge team gathered in Baltimore this week for our annual All-Staff meeting –– the very first in-person gathering as Global Refuge! As this year marks the celebration of our 85th anniversary and our 25th year headquartered in Baltimore, our theme "Stronger Together" couldn't be more fitting. Coming together to share in team-building activities, engaging workshops and sessions, and fun gatherings over three days helped us all connect, learn, create memories, and grow stronger in our commitment to the work of welcome.
