Hi folks – Tony Evers here, Governor of Wisconsin, and I wanted you to hear it from me first:

The Wisconsin Supreme Court just ruled in our favor, and upheld my partial veto that will increase public school funding for 400 years.

John, I’ve spent over three decades in public education as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and state superintendent, fighting for Wisconsin’s kids because I believe wholeheartedly that what’s best for our kids is what’s best for our state.

This decision is great news for Wisconsin's kids and our public schools, who deserve sustainable, dependable, and spendable state support and investment. For over a decade, the Legislature has failed to meet that important obligation.

But this does not mean our work is done – far from it.

Donald Trump has signed an Executive Order dismantling the Department of Education, and quite frankly it’s bullshit. It cuts billions of dollars in federal funding for public education, likely inflating class sizes, cutting resources for special education, and making it harder to hire teachers – all so they can pay for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.

It’s going to take all of us coming together – including you – to fight for what’s right.

So I’m asking personally: Will you please donate $3, or whatever you can, to the DGA and help us fight back by electing and reelecting Dem govs and putting a stop to Republican attacks?
