Hi Friend,
Nine years ago yesterday—April 22, 2016—then-Governor Terry McAuliffe stood with Levar and other leaders and grassroots advocates from across the Commonwealth to sign an executive order that restored voting rights to 206,000 Virginians who had paid their debt to society.
That single stroke of the pen erased a Jim Crow-era stain on our democracy and returned the most fundamental American freedom—the right to vote—to neighbors, friends, and family eager to take part in our civic life.
Levar was at Governor McAuliffe’s side that day because he has always believed in second chances and a justice system rooted in redemption, not retribution. Now, as he campaigns to be Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor, Levar is determined to protect that historic progress and advance the next generation of criminal-justice reforms.
But none of that happens without you. Thank you so much for supporting Levar and this important work.

Sincerely,
Team Stoney
