Dear John,

With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of Pope Francis, a shepherd to millions and a beacon of faith and compassion. In his last days, he joined us in celebrating CRS Rice Bowl's 50th anniversary, calling it “an example of how to fulfill the Gospel's command to love and serve our neighbor in a communal way.”

We are deeply grateful for his unwavering call to serve the most vulnerable. In this Jubilee Year, he reminded us that we are all called to be pilgrims of hope. Easter is all about hope. Jesus emerges from the tomb. God conquers death. A small community of believers changes the world. That hope is our legacy—and we’re called to share it with others.
