Hi John xxxxxx,
Over the past week, the Trump administration has enacted significant changes in U.S. foreign policy:
-Yesterday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he will be eliminating more than 100 offices worldwide focused on diversity, inclusion, women’s global issues, and crisis zone expertise, while scaling back human rights and democratic efforts.
-President Trump escalated the ongoing trade war with China even further by announcing new tariffs on Chinese-owned ships docking in the U.S.
-Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is under fire after the public learned of yet another Signal chat in which details of the Yemen attack were sent to his wife, his brother, his personal attorney and many others.
-The Trump administration suspended all military aid to Ukraine and Marco Rubio told reporters, “If it is not possible to end the war in Ukraine, we need to move on,” as he departed meetings in Paris.
Here’s a picture of the folks involved in those high-level “peace” talks in Paris:

You might notice everyone in that photo has a few things in common... At Her Bold Move, we can’t help but notice that these meetings – arguably the most important meetings in the world – had 0 women in attendance.
It is undeniable that we need more women in government on the defensive lines blocking the Trump administration’s efforts to destroy our economy and our standing on the global stage. Help support more pro-choice and pro-women women running for elected office by chipping in $20.25 or more today. →

And here’s the thing: According to international data, when women are involved in peace agreements, peace is 35% more likely to last 15+ years. On the flipside, war disproportionately impacts women – often in radical and unimaginably dangerous ways. A trade war and global recession will be no different.
The news coming out of Washington has been a stark reminder that we need more pragmatic women in our government. This isn’t just a symbolic point about the vast benefits of DEI or representation (though that point cannot be overstated). It’s a valid concern on behalf of anyone in the world who isn’t a white man, as these are the people making the decisions about our lives, our safety, and our futures.
At Her Bold Move, we understand our responsibility in this moment. We know that our best defense against the dangerous (and yes, truly toxic masculinity) of the Trump administration is to elect MORE WOMEN to the U.S. government. It is critical to our pursuit of national security and to getting as close to world peace as possible.
Thanks to Trump and the unqualified loyalists he has brought into our government, our democracy, our economy, and our national security remain as fragile as ever. But brave women continue to serve as much-needed checks and balances, blocking potential damage at every turn. Help us elect more of them to office in 2025 and 2026 by pitching in $20.25 or more today →
Together,
Erica Henry

Her Bold Move is the fastest-growing support network for women running for political office in America. As dangerous laws about women get passed in states with the lowest numbers of women in government (11%, 12%....), we're BREAKING the male supermajorities across those states.
Because men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies.
