The numbers don’t lie: support for the Republican Party is falling fast under Donald Trump’s leadership, and No Dem Left Behind is mobilizing to take full advantage of the moment.
A new poll conducted by RMG Research, led by conservative pollster Scott Rasmussen, found that if the congressional midterms were held today, 50% of voters would choose the Democrat on their ballot, compared to just 45% for Republicans. That’s a seven-point swing toward Democrats since Trump took office for his second term in January.

Before Trump’s inauguration, the GOP led by 7 points. Now, they’re behind. That’s a 14-point turnaround in just three months, and the clearest sign yet that the MAGA stranglehold is weakening.
And it’s not just about generic ballots. Voters are losing confidence in Trump and his party on issue after issue. A recent CNBC poll found that 55% disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy, the first time he’s registered a net negative on this issue. Another survey found that Democrats are now more trusted than Republicans to handle inflation and the nation’s finances, breaking a years-long trend.
With Republicans holding a razor-thin majority in the House, a loss of just seven seats could cost them control. Based on current polling, that scenario is not only possible, it’s becoming more likely by the day.
